Overview
This project aims to provide a platform for breast cancer patients and the clinicians.
I joined the team in August of 2019 to help them build their brand and prepare their MVP for investor presentations.
Problem
Founder, and a renown breast cancer surgeon is frustrated by the fact that there are countless applications
and platforms for breast cancer patients without the required data and information. Even with today's technological advancements,
she finds that there's not a single hospital or organizations that utilize technology for tracking patients's journeys.
Using her resources and network, she has a goal to build an internal application for hospitals to assist nurses
and clinicnans, as well as sharing the information with patients via a mobile app.
Research
Approximately 1 in 8 women (13%) will be diagnosed
with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime and 1 in 39
women (3%) will die from breast cancer.
---
Breast cancer treatment currently has the most complicated steps; diagnosis - surgery - chemotherapy (neoadjuvant if done before surgery,
and adjuvant if done post surgery) - radiation. These steps are not performed in particular order; depending on the order, the type of
surgery, cocktail for chemotherapy, and a number of procedures can change.
Connecting the patients's information from the hospital's database to an individual's phone required research for privacy and security reasons.
